Where Can I Find Crafting Skills Video Training?

(Please note: links in this post lead to CreativeLive which if visited and you make a purchase I will receive a commission on)

Hi and welcome, David the Digital Print Nerd here.

A consistent struggle in creating and selling digital craft supplies is improving and updating my skills and know-how related to software, technology, business and marketing. More specifically it can be difficult finding good quality video based training related to crafting and small business.

Perhaps like me you struggle with learning and using Adobe Photoshop, Light room and Illustrator? or other graphics software.

After searching and testing various platforms, I discovered CreativeLive a site that provides video based training from experts who specialise in various areas including crafting, photography, design, Adobe programs, crafting business and much more.

Recently I discovered a workshop class by Lisa Jacobs on “Turn Your Etsy Shop into a Sales Machine” which for an etsy seller like myself covers all the essentials necessary to improve my business. With the video training broken into managable chunks, class materials, the interaction of  teacher with live audience helps me learn, understand and implement the training better.

Exploring Creativelive led me to purchasing a few other classes mainly on using Adobe Photoshop, photo restoration and crafting business. As a result I`m slowly but surely improving my digital print skills in restoring old images and converting them to digital craft supplies, and improving how I manage and sell on etsy.

If your looking for video based classes on crafting, making, scrapbooking, photography or how to use graphics software then check out CreativeLive. Be sure to tune into their on air classes that are free to watch and broadcast live from the studio – great for seeing if a class is just right for you.

Have a great day and happy crafting

How to Print JPG Images Using an Inkjet Printer

Challenge – You have just downloaded some great looking patterned papers, clipart or art prints in JPG file format to use in some craft projects BUT how do you print JPG images using an inkjet printer?

Solution – To print out your JPG images you will require:

  1. A computer with an inkjet printer hooked up, switched on and loaded with suitable ink cartridges for your type of printing
  2. A graphics program or similar software that allows you to view your image and setup your required printing preferences
  3. Your choice of size and quality of paper to be used for your craft project

There are many choices of graphics programs and similar software for printing images available for you to use. Though they differ in some ways they all share similar printing preferences that allow you to setup your image to be printed in the way you want it.

Below in the video I demonstrate how to print an A5 JPG image using Photoshop CS2 on a Windows 7 PC with an HP Deskjet F4280 printer. You can follow along and adapt the approach with your own specific software and printer by looking for similar menu options and preferences.
